Physical education is another aspect of the academic life of a typical afghan student that has suffered as a result of the 40-year conflict. Sporting activities not only bring students together, but provide a healthy environment that will nourish the students and keep them away from crimes and violent activities. Unfortunately, most schools do not provide this essential life skill. Most schools lack athletic programs, facilities and equipment. Afghan Learning Academy has provided training to hundreds of students in the area of soccer and taekwondo. The Academy strives to help bring the athletic programs back to schools by sponsoring physical education and financing sports teams.
